The Watson Neuroscience Foundation

A vigorous effort to prevent and cure neurological injury and disorders.

Because brain and spinal cord injuries are among the most devastating and preventable injuries, The Watson Neuroscience Foundation's outreach mission is dedicated to education and prevention.

Active, Ongoing research

Dr. Ronderos actively participates in clinical neuroscience research to further the prevention and treatment of brain, nerve and spinal cord diseases and injuries. Patients have an opportunity to participate in clinical research studies to receive the latest treatment for a broad range of neurological disorders. Several clinical trials are currently under way.

Youth sports educational programs and support groups.

The foundation is currently involved with Impact Concussion studies in several local high schools: Mattie T. Blount, UMS Wright, Alma Bryant and Citronelle High School. Impact Concussion is an initiative to educate parents, coaches, players and community members on identifying concussions. The goal is to heighten awareness of the signs and symptoms of head injury, and stress the importance of intervention by athletic trainers, physicians and ambulance support for the safe and effective on-field diagnosis, treatment and transport if a head injury occurs.
